Get to know Ben Teudt, the New Diggermate Mini Excavator Hire Gold Coast Franchisee
As a highly experienced diesel fitter, Ben Teudt has recognised the opportunity within Diggermate and has stepped into the role as Diggermate Gold Coast business owner to use his skills to deliver Diggermate customers exceptionally well-maintained equipment and the highest level of customer satisfaction while working with the Diggermate brand. With him comes 10 years of experience in the heavy machinery industry as a diesel fitter which will complement Diggermates digitally-driven business model that sits behind the business operations and supports its business owners with business systems and marketing tools. Teudt’s experience as a mechanic and diesel fitter stretches back to 2000 when he started as an apprentice mechanic. He then went on to become a qualified Diesel Fitter in the construction industry spending time in Central Queensland Coal Mines, Western Australian Heavy Haulage and Transport Industry, Gas Projects in Malaysia and Australia, Maintenance Manager of a fleet of over one hundred machines and now business owner on the Gold Coast.
Teudt’s Expertise
Teudt will be operating Diggermate Gold Coast alongside his already successful Diesel fitting company BJT which currently has been operating on the Gold Coast for four years and has a team of mobile mechanics servicing South East Queensland. The vast experience that Teudt brings to the business is considered to be a true asset and major leap forward in Diggermate’s national growth plan according to Diggermate founder Mick Watkins. “The type of experience Ben is bringing with him into the role is going to be great for Diggermate on the Gold Coast and looking forward Ben will also be a huge asset to the Diggermate group nationally. What’s Next for Diggermate?
Plans for the growth of the Gold Coast fleet are already in place with the delivery of new machines being planned during December and January. The fleet of tight access Diggermate machines will now be run alongside Teudt’s larger-scale fleet of machines consisting of seven excavators and trucks ranging from 5 tonne to 15 tonnes.
Diggermate Gold Coast is the founding business in the Diggermate group which now spans from Gympie to South Australia comprising of thirteen locations. Diggermate expansion plans will see new businesses open early in the new year in Ipswich, Toowoomba, Noosa and Sydney.

Our team uses Kubota excavators exclusively through all locations around Australia. Specifically, Gold Coast location has taken delivery of a zero swing U17. This is the most common size for DIY backyard work, domestic and tight access commercial work. Moreover, the width of the machine is just 980mm wide and the height is a little over 2.3m. Thus, it should be able to fit down the side of a house and under most eaves.
