Do I need a license?
No, you do not require a license or a ticket to hire a mini excavator.
What if I have never operated an excavator?
No probs. With a few minutes of training by our delivery team, you will off and running in no time. Watch our instructional video at the bottom of this page to see how easy it is.
What size car will tow the excavator on a trailer?
The total weight on of a mini excavator is 2 tonne. So most cars or small 4×4’s will be able to pick up and drop off the machine. Most cars have towing capacity printed on an information label inside the driver’s door. You will want to look for the non-braked towing weight.
Pick up and drop off service.
We offer a $45 pick up and drop off service each way within 25 mins of the depot. If you live outside this area ask us for a quote.
Are there any additional charges?
You are required to bring the machines back in clean condition and fuel of diesel (just the same way as it will be presented when you receive it), so as long as this is the case, and there are no parts broken, there will be no additional charges.
What happens if something breaks while I am using the machine?
All our machines are well looked after and up to date with servicing. If anything breaks while you have it in your possession, you will be responsible for the cost of the repair.
